THE CONCEPT

For most travellers, Ailsa Craig is an impressive photo opportunity along the beautiful Ayrshire ‘riviera’. Most will be momentarily impressed, possibly a little intrigued, take a snap and move along, maybe heading for Turnberry or Culzean.

Those who neighbour the island rarely spare it a second thought, familiarity breeding apathy.

Not so for Robert Wilson.

Since childhood, Robert has taken photographs of Ailsa Craig. His portfolio of images – a small selection can be seen in the gallery – is a spectacular collection.

Our ambition is to produce a TV documentary exploring Robert’s lifelong fascination with the island and how it continues to inspire him.
